  Having won Belfast City Council's Pre Enterprise Programme, brilliant red Consulting are currently advertising for potential entrepreneurs to take part in this initiative. This programme is free and open to residents within Belfast City Council.

Information seminars will be held at the following locations:
Wednesday 3rd December - Donegall Pass Community Centre - 6.30-8pm
Monday 8th December - Highfield Community Centre - 7pm -8.30pm
Tuesday 9th December - West Belfast Partnership - 7pm-8.30pm
Wednesday 10th December - Finaghy Community Centre - 7-8pm
Thursday 11th December - East Belfast Partnership - 5.30-7pm
Tuesday 16th December - North Queen Street Centre - 7-8.30pm

The programme will run between December 2008 and June 2009 and will feature five group workshops and a number of one to one mentoring sessions. These sessions will help participants think through the challenges of self employment from finding finance to assessing marketing issues and also dealing with issues such as fear of failure and self motivation.

  brilliant red Consulting completes Cavan CEB Start Your Own Business Programme  
  brilliant red Consulting have just completed the delivery of 8 evening workshops to potential entrepreneurs at Cavan County Enterprise Board. The programme consisted of a series of training workshops in marketing, finance, book keeping, market research and business plan development. All participants gained increased knowledge and new skills to enable them confidently to progress towards establishing their own business.
 
 
  Sligo Women in Business Network (SWIBN) Guest Speaker Meetings  
  brilliant red Consulting are the managing agents for SWIBN and have organised a number of successful guest speaker events for the networks monthly meetings.

October 2008 Network meeting
Peter Quinn, former GAA President and owner of PQCS (Peter Quinn Consultancy services) was the guest speaker at October’s network meeting. Peter is a chartered accountant with vast experience in financial management not only with the Quinn Group but with many other businesses and he was asked to speak on financial management to the group. Peter delivered an excellent talk to the network, which was very enlightening and highly informative.
He spoke about the importance of great quality and service, which results in the justification for a higher price for products/services and the importance of every business offering even a slight differentiation in product, quality and service from competitors, which could result in competitive advantage.

November 2008 Network meeting
Juliana Sloan is a member of the Women in Business network in Northern Ireland and owner of Juliana Sloan Associates. Her company specialises in providing a range of business development consultancy services including professional networking. Juliana spoke on the benefits of networking and spoke thoroughly on benefits such as cost effectiveness, time efficiencies and the ease of accessing networks. She then talked about the various networking opportunities that exist by categorizing them into 3 areas, Business Networks, social networks and acquaintances.

  Successful Women in Business Conference for Sligo Women in Business Network  
  brilliant red managed and organised Sligo Women in Business networks 2nd All Ireland Women in Business Conference on the 14th May 2008. This successful and well attended Conference which took place in the Sligo Park Hotel was organised around the theme of "challenges encountered by female entrepreneurs and how they can be overcome".

The conference featured 3 Irish female keynote speakers and provided a fantastic networking opportunity for those present.

:: Samantha Leslie of Castle Leslie who addressed the conference on how she developed the business over the past 15 years where Castle Leslie at that stage was in need of very substantial refurbishment and had no reputation as a hotel or restaurant.

:: Annette Houston, owner of FM Cleaning Systems, Letterkenny, discussed how she has developed the family business to be one of the most professional cleaning service companies in the North West of Ireland.

:: The 3rd keynote speaker was Anne Blake of La Maison, Letterkenny, discussed how the business idea was born, conducting research to back up their initial 'hunch', developing a business plan.
 
 
  Scottish Textiles Brand Development Programme  
  The programme commenced in April 07, and has taken textiles businesses from across Scotland to help them develop brand strategies through a series of training sessions and one to one mentoring. A number of high profile textile businesses are on the programme and are benefiting from the expert advice and the findings from individual brand perception surveys which provides each business with an insight into the brand strength.
 
 
  Top Award for Down District Retail Programme  
  Down District Council's Retail Renaissance Programme, which was delivered by brilliant red consulting has won a prestigious award for the "Best Enhanced Retail Offering" at the Association of Town Centre Managers NI Awards. The award was presented by Martin Blackwell, Regional Development Director of the Assoc of Town Centre Management on the 28th February in the Ecos Centre, Ballymena. Through brilliant red's mentoring and expert advice, a huge improvement had been seen in the exterior appearance and interior merchandising of the retail outlets in Downpatrick, Ballynahinch and Newcastle.
 
 
  Keith speaks at SE Renfrewshire's International Marketing event  
  Keith was invited to speak at SE Renfrewshire's International Marketing event in the Hillington Park Innovation Centre. Keith presented on the Golden Rules of export development, and the various options for export entry that exist and provided practical tips to maximise sales opportunities.
 
 
  InterTradeIreland FOCUS Programme helps deliver sales for Mr Crumb  
  One year ago Mr Crumb, the Westmeath food manufacturer was successfully specialising in gourmet stuffing, crust toppings & melts, dessert puddings, crepes, gravies, and garlic breads for the Republic of Ireland market. Mr Crumb achieved widespread recognition as a quality producer in the south of Ireland retail, food service and food processing sectors. In October 2005 a strategic decision was taken to replicate their success in the North of Ireland. To assist them with this plan Mr Crumb applied to participate in the InterTradeIreland FOCUS Programme.
Having been accepted onto the FOCUS Programme, and through the work of Ailse Molloy, the FOCUS Graduate, Mr Crumb has gone from a near zero presence in the NI market to achieving listings with over 40 retail outlets including NISA stores. Mr Crumb has also started supplying food producers such as Hungry House Sandwiches and Food Service suppliers such as Henderson'’s Food Service. The company have also just successfully launched their new "Toscano'’s" range north of the border. In the words of Mr Crumb'’s MD Bernard Coyle "it is truly amazing what can be achieved in less than a year with good strategic thinking, the right people and the support of an organisation such as InterTradeIreland".
 
 
  InterTradeIreland FOCUS Programme helps to Launch Brand for Andrew Mannion Structural Engineers  
  One of Ireland'’s premier structural steel engineering companies launched its brand in the Northern Ireland marketplace with the help of the InterTradeIreland FOCUS Programme, which aims to promote cross border trade by placing high calibre graduates with high growth companies.
Having secured a graduate through the Programme, Ross Kane, AMSE Ltd began to offer their comprehensive range of services to the Northern Irish construction industry.

  brilliant red have been selected to deliver an innovative brand development programme targeted specifically at Scottish food and drink companies. brilliant brands is due to commence in September 2006, and will take a very exciting and practical approach, with 9 workshops over 20 weeks. Workshops will contain stimulating sessions and will be delivered by inspirational guest speakers.
Some of the outputs will include: Design/improve or re-engineer the branding strategy of participating companies, produce a brand strategy development plan and produce a timed cost focused branding action plan for all participating companies.
The brilliant brands Programme will culminate in a Masterclass and Graduation Dinner.
 
 
  Marketing Advance Programme is named "one of the top Business Development Programmes in Britain"
